Insta Snaps #13

Aren't me & Dan cute? ;) Why do I have to be so small?

On the 11th August it was my 17th birthday!  I spent the evening in my favourite Indian restaurant with Dan and the family, it was lovely!  How amazing is my £1 skort please?!

Again, another selfie from my birthday!!

I am still in ore with my Zara replica dress!  I wore it to go on a little lunch date with my old friends from high school and then to see Inbetweeners 2!  How hilarious is that film please??!!

I NEED THIS AA DRESS!

£40 Topshop boots!  Not bad at all..especially for Topshop!

I love my city so much!  Liverpool is such a beautiful city and how lovely is this photo?  It was took at 4am.  The reason being me and my dad took my brother to the airport and we were passing the Albert Dock on our way back.

Again, my gorgeous TopShop boots!!

Nothing better than fresh flowers!

Honey I washed The Kids | Review

Honey I Washed The Kids // Lush // Soap
Last Monday was my 17th birthday and I was completely spoilt by Dan & his family!  One of the presents I received off Dan was this soap from Lush.  After many times going into Lush and saying to him that this soap reminded me of my childhood and falling back in love each time I smelt it he picked a slice up and gifted it to me.

As I said above this smell of the soap just brings me back to my childhood.  Every birthday & Christmas I would receive a slice off my uncle due to it being my favorite soap and probably product from Lush.

The best way to describe this soap would be to say that it smells like honey..obviously?  I am awful at describing smells so..  What I love about this soap is the fact that there's not a set price to it.  You can pay however much depending on the size.

I use the soap for hands and body, it breaks down into a creamy texture and is just so lovely to use on all the body.  I also loved the topped honey slice at the top which I think is made out of real honey.  To go with the soap Dan also got me honey bee which I haven never tried but I can't wait to use it!  I will probably be showing what else I got for my birthday as well.

Have you ever tried "Honey I washed The Kids"?

London Photo Diary ~ Day 1

A few weeks ago me and my mum and dad went on a short break to London.  We've been loads of times so it wasn't our first.  It was just a chance to have a little break away and for me I actually had a photo shoot while I was down there as well but I'm a bit apprehensive whether or not to show the pictures but we'll see.  So a few weeks back we left Liverpool and jumped on a train down south!!  Enjoy!

How beautiful is Liverpool's train station - Lime Street?  We were scheduled to get the 2:47 train from Liverpool which would get us into London at around half 4 I think, not too sure though!

What's a good train ride without magazines aye?

Traditional London cabs!  Also an Arctic Monkey quote right there!!

My uncle took us out to St Pancras station in London for the poshest meal!  I usually hate posh places & posh food but this restaurant was incredible!  Above is just what I wore out!

I don't know this road just reminded me of Oliver Twist?  Anyone else?  This was also a view from our cab on the way to the station!

The place we had our meal, seriously so good!!

St Pancras station is just beautiful!  It's like a full on airport due to the EuroStar departing from this particular station!!

I'll be uploading my second day in London post soon!  Sorry it's been so delayed guys.

Developing a personal style

I have seen many bloggers write blogposts about personal style and what personal style means to them so I thought I would put my own spin on the subject and write a little about what I believe personal style is and in my opinion, how you can develop one.

Looking back over my years my style has changed just a bit.  When I was about 13-14 I dressed very differently I would say to everyone else and very unique however I didn't always get it right.  I dressed quite vintage and as a 13 year old I think this is quite strange.  Back then most 13 year old's wore jeans and converse..not me!  However I never dressed like that to be different, to me that's just what I looked and I believed I suited that style because it went well with my personality.  I don't know what age it changed but now being 16, 3 weeks off being 17 I think I dress quite differently.

Here's a few tips of mine that you can follow to develop a personal style:

  • Experiment ~ to me this means going into shops (shops that you love or might not like as much) and trying on things that catch your eye.  There is nothing wrong with browsing all round a shop and taking a ton of things into the changing rooms with you.  If you like the look of them go for it!  Try new shapes and colours and go for something that looks a little different to what you would usually go for, you never know it may just work!
  • Knowing what suits you and what you feel comfortable in ~ I know I have just said above go for things that are a little different but it's really important to go out in clothes that you feel comfortable in otherwise you're going to feel absolutely awful about yourself in public.  As you get older you will know yourself what suits you.  You will realise what shapes and cuts of clothing will suit you and also what colours.
  • Look for inspiration ~ when I look for inspiration in the fashion world I don't really turn to celebs, only fashion bloggers if I'm being honest.  I think this is because I can relate to them more seeing as most are just a bit older than me and most aren't made of money so they will be mostly shopping on the high street.  I would say it's a really good idea to find certain fashion bloggers who dress like you would so it's easier to match up outfits and also if you see something they are wearing you can just run to the shop and get it, simple!
  • Know your basics ~ basics are such key pieces when it comes to fashion.  For me I consider basics to be a pair of jeans, a breton striped top and a pair of docs.  To you however your staple basics are going to be different to mine.
I don't know I found writing this post quite hard because I think personal style means something different to everyone so what I consider helpful may be rubbish to some!  Ah well let me know what you think!

July Playlist

This month I've rediscovered such an amazing song from Two Door Cinema Club which was taken from their second album.  I think their first album was so much better but still their second has quite a few good tracks on!  Also I've came across an amazing song from Clean Bandit.  I think it will be hard for them to make such a great come back due to their hit single: rather be.  Also a new song from Calvin Harris!  His set from T in the Park was AMAZING!  A new band I've came across are Coasts, a new indie band...have to say they're quite good, thanks Dan!  Also a new song from Nico + Vinz!!  ENJOY!

  • Wake up ~ Two Door Cinema Club
  • Dust clears ~ Clean Bandit
  • C.U.B.A ~ Calvin Harris
  • Oceans ~ Coasts
  • Am I wrong ~ Nico & Vinz

My first ever Q&A post

So recently I put a post up on my instagram asking all you lot to ask me questions for my first question + answer post so these are the questions you asked:

Who inspires you + why?
For me this is difficult because no one actually comes to mind.  Is that bad that hardly anyone inspires me?  If we're talking about fashion, Alexa Chung & Fearne Cotton are major icons to me!  I think they're just both so stylish and always on point with their style.  Also a lot of bloggers inspire me.  Bloglovin' is an easy way to catch up with my favourite bloggers so it's always easy to look at their most recent looks.  In life though no one really inspires me.  To me I don't really have no one to look up to soo yeahh!

Favourite music artists?
Bands:  Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club, Florence + the Machine, Alt J, Peace, Pegasus Bride, Two Door Cinema Club, The Wombats, The Vaccines, The 1975

Artists:  Beyonce, Ben Howard, Lana Del Rey, Laura Mvula, Lucy Rose, Amy Winehouse

Dream holiday destination?  Bora Bora!  The Maldives.  I would love to go back to New York also.  LA.  Amsterdam.  Tokyo.

What do you aspire to do as a job?  From a young age I always wanted to do something in the medical field and funnily enough I still do.  At this point in my life I think it would be really rewarding to be a nurse especially a child's nurse and that's what I'm hoping to do as my main job or maybe a midwife.  However a dream job for me would be a full time blogger.  Being a blogger brings so many opportunities, travelling the world being the biggest.

What 3 celebrities would you like to have a dinner party with?  Alexa Chung, Alex Turner, Jack Steadman.

What drugstore product could you no live without?  2true effortless waterproof black eyeliner..holy grail!!

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?  New York or London.

I'm hopefully going to be doing another Q+A post soon so get asking your questions on Twitter or Instagram!
